Why enroll in a Pre-Professional program?

Unlike Pre-Med and some Pre-Health programs, pre-professional programs might not be required or encouraged by graduate schools. However many schools, including La Sierra University feel that the guidance and networking opportunities in such programs are invaluable in pursuing a professional career. In our fast paced world it is often difficult for students to find the right courses for their desired career and their admission to grad school. The guidance of their advisors plus the tailor-made and up to date curricula help students find the best courses for their desired career outcomes.

Pre-Law Your journey to a career in law begins here

Designed as a pre-professional program –not a major– Pre-Law is taken in conjunction with a major aiming to provide the students with the foundations commonly desired by law schools. Under the guidance of Pre-Law advisors, students will pursue a curriculum that best befits their grad school matriculation and career goals. Students will be able to freely chose the major they complete concurrently but especially benefit from the majors offered in the History, Politics & Sociology, Business, English and Communication departments. Students may also benefit from the networking, internship and extracurricular activities offered at La Sierra University such as the Pre-Law Club.

Pre-Engineering Building a better tomorrow that starts today

Students in the Pre-Engineering program at La Sierra University have the choice of either a program tailored, in consultation with a Pre-Engineering advisor, to meet specific entrance requirements at the engineering school of the students choice such as the University of California or California State University. Alternatively the Student may chose to follow the curriculum of the affiliation program in engineering at Walla Walla University. Upon completion of La Sierra’s Pre-Engineering program, students may transfer to Walla Walla with no loss of credits to complete the ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. The degree offers emphases in civil, computer, electrical/electronic, and mechanical engineering. A Bachelor of Science in bio-engineering that includes prerequisites for medical and dental schools is also available.
