California State Programs
All your CalGrant information for La Sierra University:
Cal Grants are free dollars-up to $9,700 for college each year. Cal Grants A and B are for undergraduate students who meet the financial, academic, and eligibility requirements, and apply on time. Cal Grant is for students who will be attending a teaching credential program, in exchange for teaching service.
Basic Requirements:
- Submit FAFSA & verified CalGrant GPA forms
- California residency
- U.S citizenship or eligible non-citizen
- Financial Need
- Minimum GPA requirement
- Enrolled at least Half-time
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress (by La Sierra standards)
- Have family income and assets below established ceilings
- Not be in default with any student loan

The California Chafee Grant is free money for current or foster youth youth to help pay for college. This is money that you don’t have to pay back. You may also be able to use your grant to pay for child care, transportation and rent while you’re in school.
Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE)
APLE is a competitive teacher incentive program designed to encourage outstanding students to become Teachers. All APLE information is available to students at The School Of Education and the Student Financial Services.
