Nikki Anthony, one of our international students, will be getting baptized this Friday, June 6, during Friday Night Service, in the campus mall (Founders' Green, in front of the Cafeteria). The program starts at 7:30pm. All are welcome to come worship and celebrate with the her. Bring a blanket to sit on.

Absolute Last Call for OPT Applications
If you are finishing your program next week and still have not applied for OPT, you must do as soon as possible. We can not do applications after June 12 for students finishing in Spring quarter. Students finishing in the Summer quarter should also do their OPT applications as soon as possible. To apply for OPT, you will need the following: OPT instructions, I-765, I-765 instructions, a valid passport, I-94, 2 pictures, and a check for $340. Remember, OPT permits take approximately 90 days, so do not wait!

I-20 Expiring June 18, 2008!
If your I-20 expires on June 18, 2008 but you have not completed your program yet, you must do a Program Extension BEFORE the I-20 expires. The very last day to apply for an extension is June 16 for it to make it on time before the deadline of the the 18th.

Travel Signatures on I-20's
Do not forget to get your I-20's signed if you are traveling home for the summer break. Travel signatures take one day to be processed!

Summer Classes
Just a reminder to all the students that started their programs in the Winter or Spring quarters that you must be registered full-time for the Summer quarter. Please come talk to us if you have any problems or have questions regarding this matter.

Current OPT Students That Qualify for the STEM Extension
The following students (listed below) qualify for the newly approved STEM extension (i.e., have the ability to extend their OPT for an additional 17 months). If your SEVIS number is listed below, please contact our office BEFORE your OPT expires to extend your work permit. To apply for the STEM extension, you will have to file again just like when you filed for your OPT (yes, an additional fee of $340 is needed).

Campus Updates

Prayers for Moses.
Please continue to pray for Moses and his family as he continues to recover in the hospital.

Commencement Weekend is June 13-15
Commencement (or graduation) will take place next weekend. There will be a Consecration Service on Friday night at the LSU Church, a Baccalaureate Service on Saturday Morning also at the LSU Church, and the Commencement Ceremony on Sunday morning at the Founders' Green (in front of the Cafeteria). Congratulations to all the international students that completed their programs and will be marching on Sunday! We are very proud of you!
