Happy Holidays to all of you!

The Office of International Student Services as well as the entire University, except for the Eagle's Nest, will be closed starting Friday, December 21, 2007, at noon, and will re-open on Monday, January 2, 2008.

Immigration Updates

Last call for I-20 Expiring in December 2007
If your I-20 expires on December 2007 and you have not finished your program yet, please come to our office immediately! We will NOT be able to do program extensions after the 21st, so PLEASE come right away!

Be prepared for travel this Christmas!
Remember that if you are traveling home for the Holidays, you must have your I-20 signed prior to traveling (download signature request form). The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) posted a document with information to help you avoid the issuance of Form I-515A at ports of entry. Click here to see the document.

Nineteen Senators Urge Secretary Chertoff to Extend Optional Practical Training
In a November 8 letter to DHS Secretary Chertoff, 19 Senators urged the secretary to extend optional practical training (OPT) from 12 to 29 months. In a separate letter, NAFSA President and CEO Marlene M. Johnson also urged Secretary Chertoff to make this regulatory change. (source: NAFSA) Read more…

Campus Updates

Cafeteria Meal Times for the Christmas break:
Christmas break meals hours are 11:00am-2:00pm in the Eagle's Nest (12:00pm-1:30pm on weekends). The Eagle's Nest will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Regular cafeteria hours resume at dinner time (5:00pm) on January 6th.

Medical Insurance Renewals:
We have started renewing your medical insurance. The process should be done by the end of this week. Remember that the quarterly cost has changed to $266.25.
