CONGRATULATIONS to all our graduate and undergraduate international students that are graduating this coming weekend! We are very proud of you, and we are sadden that you will be leaving us. According to the Records Office, this year we have a total of 92 international students (including F-1, PR, and other visa categories) representing 32 different countries!
If you are graduating this weekend, the OISS would love to get pictures of you from this weekend and a quick email with a brief story about you and what your future plans are so that share your story in our web site! Perhaps you are going to grad school or you've gotten a super-duper cool job overseas. Whatever it is, we'd love to tell your story!
REMEMBER: The office of International Student Services will have very limited hours next week, June 13 - 17. Due to scheduling conflicts, we will only be able to help you on Tuesday and Friday of next week. Regular summer hours will resume on Monday, June 20th. |

Last Call to Renew Your I-20's.
If you have NOT renewed your I-20 still and it's expiring on June 18th, please follow the steps below and turn your documents in NO LATER than next Tuesday, June 14th.
- Complete the Program Extension form (available outside OISS).
- Have your evaluator (undergraduate students) or advisor (graduate students) sign the Program Extension form testifying that you do, in fact, need more time to complete your program. Extensions can not be processed due to lack of academic progress.
- Clear your finances with the Office of Student Financial Services (if you have an outstanding balance, you will need a written confirmation attached to your Program Extension from your SFS advisor).
- Return the Program Extension to our office NO LATER than June 14, 2005.
REMBER: If you are finishing your studies this quarter and are returning to your home country after graduation, please let us know. We need to take care of your paperwork and SEVIS status. Otherwise, you will continue to have charges for medical insurance and may have future problems with getting visas.

New Look for OISS Web site
We would like to give our OISS web site a new look and feel, and we would like to have YOU on it. If appearing on our web site sounds like fun and something you'd like to do, please contact Natan to arrange for a photo shoot. We would love to have you dressed in your national costume, if at all possible!
We are also looking for fun pictures you took while at La Sierra. If you do not mind sharing them, we would love to have them to put on our web site. |
