IMMIGRATION UPDATE

Still time for the U.S. Visa Lottery!
The deadline to apply for the Visa Lottery is December 30, 2003! If you still haven't entered your application, come over to OISS and we will take your picture, make it compatible for the lottery, and help you with the online application for a $5 fee.

Last Week to Apply for OPT!
Friday, December 12, 2003 is the last day you can apply for OPT if you are finishing with your classes this quarter! You will not be allowed to apply after Friday, so if you are graduating or finishing with your classes this quarter come see Natan in OISS ASAP! No exceptions!

Will Your I-20 Expire on December 18?
Some of you have an I-20 form that will expire on December 18th. If you have one these I-20s, please contact OISS as soon as possible to discuss your future plans, especially if you would like to continue at LSU.

Christmas Break and Travel
If you would like to go home during the Christmas break, you need to have a valid signature on page 3 of your I-20 in order to return to the U.S. You will only need to come to OISS to get a new signature if the last signature on page 3 of your I-20 is dated on or before July 6, 2003.

OISS UPDATE

Insurance Name Change: GGH Students
Our insurance company name has changed. The new name is GGH Students. Your current card is still valid, however. Their new web site is: http://www.gghstudents.com/

New Insurance Cards for 2004
Your current insurance card will expire on December 31, 2003. OISS will be renewing all the cards for all the continuing students sometime during this during the month of December so you will have continuous coverage. However, you will need to print a new insurance card after January 1, 2004. Here are the instructions on how to print your new insurance cards:

  1. Go on-line to GGH Students.com .
  2. Click "Sign-In"
  3. If you already registered with them, enter your email address and password. If you never logged in before, then enter your email address and select "I'm a new user." Follow the instructions. If you need your Certificate Number, contact us.
  4. Click on the upper left corner in the "My Benefits."
  5. Click on the "ID" green icon (to the right). You will need Acrobat Reader to see your card.

REMEMBER: you never know when you will need to go to the hospital, so print your insurance card ASAP!

If you or your friends are not getting Foreign Exchange, we might not have your current email address. Please update your email address so that we can continue sending you these emails.
