Practical Traning--Last Chance!
If you are graduating or finishing your classes this
June, please make an appointment to see Natan or Jessica
in the Office of International Student Services to talk
about your plans after graduation. If you would like
to apply for OPT, you must file your I-765 no
later than June 13, 2003, or the last day of classes.
I-20s Expiring
in June 18, 2003
If you are one of the students with an I-20 form that
will expire on June 18, 2003, please come see Natan
in the OISS, no later than Friday, June 13, to
discuss what your plans are for next year . We
cannot issue a program extension after your I-20 has
expired!
Summer Travel,
Visas, and New I-20s
If you are traveling abroad this summer and are planning
on coming back to the U.S. AFTER August
1, 2003, you will be required to have a new SEVIS I-20
to re-enter the country. Please contact Natan or Jessica
in the OISS if this your case.
If your visa is expired, we highly recommend that you
do not travel aboard since you will most likely experience
visa delays. All U.S. Consulates are now required to
conduct individual interviews of all visa applicants,
causing many delays.
If you must travel and get a new visa, we highly recommend
that you have a family member or friend schedule a visa
appointment for your prior to your leaving the U.S.
so that you can come back to LSU on time for Fall quarter.
