January
- Submit FAFSA to Federal processor no sooner than January 1
but in time to meet the priority deadline of March 2.
- Be certain to include GPA verification form (Undergraduates).
- Send letter and documentation explaining any special family
circumstances to the Office of Student Financial Services.
- Research possible outside sources of scholarship research books
in your local library.
February
- Complete admissions process.
- Complete financial aid file by submitting all requested documents.
- If you have not submitted the FAFSA, do so now online. Do not
delay! Recommended mailing deadline is February 15.
- The FAFSA must be received at the federal processor by March
1 to be considered for all types of campus-based funds(Perkins
Loan, FSEOG, FCWS). Respond promptly to any requests for additional
information from the Office of Student Financial Services.
- You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal
processor 4-6 weeks after submitting the FAFSA. Check the SAR
carefully.
- Cal Grant recipients: The Cal Grant GPA verification form (undergraduate)
or request Test Scores (graduate) submit to the Register office
by February 25.
March
- Complete financial aid file by submitting all requested documents.
- California residents (new applicants only): Meet March 2 postmark
deadline for Cal Grant/Graduate Fellowship.
April/May/June
- Watch for your official Award Letter from LSU if your FAFSA
is on file and your admission process is complete.
- Notify the Office of Student Financial Services of any scholarships
that you have been awarded.
- This information is important for finalizing your awards. You
may receive several revised award letters as the Office of Student
Financial Services is made aware of these things.
- Complete financial aid file by submitting all requested documents.
July
- Register for Fall classes Online.
- Make financial payment or arrangements.
- Clear finances after registration. Complete tuition payment
plan form. To avoid deletion of your classes make your payment
arrangements before Sept 1.
- If awarded Federal Work Study (FWS), obtain FWS Authorization
Form from the Office of Human Resources and begin looking for
a work study job.
August
- If you were awarded and need Federal Stafford, Unsubsidized
Stafford, or PLUS Loans, complete the loan
application(s) online. (All transactions on this web site
are secure).

September/October
- Complete registration process, by making financial payment arrangements
with Student Financial Services.
- First tuition payment due for all students on tuition
payment plan with LSU. Call our office or e-mail us at sfs@lasierra.edu
for further information.
- Secure Federal Work Study or other student employment position
with Human Resource Department
- New Students: Complete master promissory note online for Federal
Stafford Loan.
