Description
The Department of Administration and Leadership is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence through support and enhancement of educational leaders. This excellence is fostered through the discovery of meaning and purpose in the development of administrative and leadership skills. The department curriculum is based on the concept that leadership training has three fundamental aspects: the development and understanding of the leader as a person, a deeper understanding of the community and organizational context of leadership, and the development of specific skills needed by a successful leader-manager.
Prerequisites
Forty five units are generally awarded for a Master's degree or equivalent and are to include the following or their equivalent:

Requirements
To build an area of leadership emphasis, the program will include 45 units in addition to the prerequisites. These units should include the following:

Administration and Leadership Courses (9 units) Twelve units, including EDAD 687 above, are required in School Administration. These units are to be determined in consultation with department advisor and are to become a part of the student's approved program.
Elective Courses (21 units) are to be determined in consultation with department advisor and are to become a part of the student's approved program.
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher is required for successful completion of this program. A grade of B (3.00) or higher is required for each course that is required for the program.
