Description
This credential program is designed for astute students who hold administrative positions in California K-12 schools. Rigorous requirements include a sound educational base and a substantial concentration in the student's chosen area of interest. The curriculum offers opportunities for educational leaders to develop advanced knowledge, skills and research capabilities. This program requires a minimum of 36 quarter units of post-baccalaureate coursework and may include an equivalent of 12 quarter units of approved non-academic activities. This program is approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Other Requirements
Candidates also need to make application to the Department of Administration and Leadership and provide documentation of the following:
Possession of a valid Preliminary of Clear Administrative Services Credential
Current employment in an Administrative position in a California K-12 school
Commission on Teacher Credentialing
La Sierra University's administrative credential programs are approved by the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing.
Combining your Credential program with a Degree program in Administration and Leadership
Individuals pursuing administrative credentials may incorporate credential requirements as a part of a degree program. All of the courses for the Administrative Services Credential program will also apply to degree programs at La Sierra.
Admission
Candidates concurrently pursuing a Professional Administrative Services Credential or a post-MA degree will need to meet the following additional requirements:
Graduate academic record with a GPA of 3.3 or higher
Satisfactory score on the GRE general aptitude examination
Demonstration of written communication proficiency
Demonstration of satisfactory English language proficiency (for non-English language applicants)
Satisfactory interview with department advisor
