Master of Arts, Administration and Leadership
Prerequisites
Students applying for the M.A. in Administration & Leadership should:
- Hold a valid baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.
- Earn a combined score of at least 1000 on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and at least 4.0 on the GRE Writing Exam. This does not apply to students who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.
- Obtain a Certificate of Clearance which will be required for registration in any courses that contain a fieldwork or practicum component.
Educational Specialist, Ed.S., Administration and Leadership
Prerequisites
Students applying for the Ed.S. in Administration & Leadership should:
- Hold a valid master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30.
- Earn a combined score of at least 1000 on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and at least 4.0 on the GRE Writing Exam.
- Obtain a Certificate of Clearance which will be required for registration in any courses that contain a fieldwork or practicum component.
- Have satisfactorily completed the following prerequisite courses (or their equivalents):

Doctor of Education, Ed.D., Administration and Leadership
Prerequisites
Students applying for the Ed.D. in Administration & Leadership should:
- Hold a valid master’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants with a second master’s degree or with an Ed.S. may qualify for advanced standing in the Ed.D.
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
- Earn a combined score of at least 1000 on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and at least 4.0 on the GRE Writing Exam.
- Obtain a Certificate of Clearance which will be required for registration in any courses that contain a fieldwork or practicum component.
- Have successfully completed the following prerequisite courses (or their equivalents):

In order to qualify for the California Preliminary Administrative Services (Tier 1) Credential, the candidate must:
- Hold a valid teaching or pupil personnel services credential
- Have at least 3 years of successful, full-time teaching experience in a position that requires a teaching or pupil personnel services credential.
In order to qualify for the California Professional Clear Administrative Services (Tier 2) Credential, the candidate must:
- Hold a valid Preliminary Administrative Services (Tier 1) credential
- Have at least five years of successful administrative experience.
