The major | Course descriptions | Degree requirements The Psychology Department offers two major programs: a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology/psychobiology. A minor in psychology is available. We have approximately 120 majors, and six full-time faculty (plus several adjunct faculty); our goal is to prepare students for graduate school, professional school, or a career. A major in Psychology may prepare the student for a career in psychology, marriage and family therapy, teaching, special education, medicine, dentistry, law, social work, psychiatric social work, speech therapy, ministry, personnel administration, or residence hall deanship, among many other possibilities. While most of these career areas require advanced study at the graduate level, graduates may also directly enter the job market in some of these fields. The general objective of the: Department of Psychology is to teach psychology as the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. More specifically, objectives include:
