RIVERSIDE, Calif. – ( www.lasierra.edu )La Sierra’s School of Religion will present an H.M.S. Richards, Jr. Memorial Lecture featuring long-time Adventist church administrator Charles Bradford and his dreams for the church of the 21st century.
The lecture will be held Sabbath, May 16 at 3 p.m., in the La Sierra University Church followed by a reception at Sierra Vista Chapel. Bradford’s talk is titled “The Church in the 21st Century: An Emerging Paradigm, Toward the discovery of a robust doctrine of the church.”
Elder Charles Bradford has given more than 50 years of service to the church, including as a pastor, departmental director, conference evangelist, conference president, and officer of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. For eleven years he served as president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. La Sierra’s School of Religion is sponsoring this event.
“A church leader much of his career, a voracious reader, a remarkable preacher, Charles ‘Brad’ Bradford will have something substantial and relevant to say about a theology of church,” says Douglas Clark, associate dean for the School of Religion and coordinator of the lecture.
