La Sierra University’s United States National Champion Students in Free Enterprise team advanced to the semifinals of the 2007 World Cup competition, being held in New York City October 10-12.
Sixteen of the college and university SIFE teams from the 44 countries competing this year have been advanced to the semifinal round following judging on the first full day of competition. Those 16 teams are grouped into four “leagues.” The semifinal competition will take place on Friday, October 12. The team judged to be the winning team in each semifinal league will advance to the final round of competition on Friday afternoon.
“I am so proud of all of the La Sierra students participating in this competition,” says Randal R. Wisbey, president of La Sierra University. “It has been a complete team effort, with a number of students supporting the efforts of the presentation team.”
This is the second time that La Sierra University has competed in this international event since SIFE introduced the World Cup in 2001. La Sierra won the world title in competition in Amsterdam in 2002.
