A joyous mix of contemporary and traditional holiday music will be presented at the annual La Sierra University Christmas Candlelight Concert, on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 pm in the La Sierra University Seventh-day Adventist church.
A university tradition for more than 40 years, this years holiday concert features more than 110 La Sierra University students performing as soloists and members of a variety of ensembles. The 90-minute program includes songs by the La Sierra Chamber Singers and University Chorale, the Flute Quartet, the Brass Ensemble, and String Quartet.
Soloists include:
Clarisa Chan, soprano, who recently performed in Rome
Laura Trupp, violin
NIccole Modell, flute
Marlie Pierre-Louis, alto
The concert coincides for the third year with a display of nearly 200 culturally unique nativity scenes collected from across the world. Sponsored by the Stahl Center for World Service, the nativity collection will be displayed in Sierra Vista Chapel, located directly across the street from the church. The collection will be displayed Friday, December 7, from 6-10 pm, and Saturday, December 8, from noon to 5 pm.
