A. Andrew Truong, Ed.D., has been hired by the School of Business as assistant professor in management and director of the professional MBA program.

“Dr. Truong holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California and a master's degree from the California State Polytechnic University at Pomona,” says John Thomas, dean of the School of Business at La Sierra University. “At Cal-Poly Pomona, he helped to manage a thriving off-campus MBA program. Formerly a member of La Sierra's collaborating faculty, he will now be responsible not only for teaching management courses but also for overseeing La Sierra's professional MBA program and ensuring its growth.”

Since 2000 Truong has worked at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona with the graduate programs in the School of Business. He served as the associate director and the graduate coordinator. He has also held adjunct faculty positions at California Polytechnic University, Chaffey Community College. San Bernardino Valley College and La Sierra University.

“I've come to LSU because of our students, faculty and staff...in that, LSU constituents approach everything in a humanistic manner under God's guidance,” says Truong. “We, and I can say that now because I am now a part of LSU, approach everyone and every obstacles with open arms and grace.  For me, that speaks volume about an institution and its people...my family and I have found our new home.”

He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the California Faculty Association, and the Academic Professionals of California. He has presented publications and given presentations for the International Business Association, the Marketing Educators’ Association and the Western Decision Science Institute.
