Riverside, Ca. –The La Sierra University November 9 Assembly introduced the Golden Eagles athletic teams to the campus with emcee, Steve Hemenway, La Sierra University assistant chaplain. The La Sierra University Golden Eagles teams include: Flying Eagles (cheer/acro team), Women's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Tennis, and Men's Basketball.

The flying Eagles gave 3 performances (cheer and acro) while the Eagle Mascot cheered and encouraged the LSU crowd. After the Assembly, the Office of Student Activities coordinated “Club Rush” on the campus mall. Approximately 20 clubs participated.

“Most clubs gave away goodies, such as cookies, caramel apples, popcorn and nachos,” says Kristi Dart, La Sierra University coordinator of student activities. “The purpose of Club Rush was to inform students about the clubs (what their purpose is, what type of activities they do, etc.) and have students sign up as new members.”
