Riverside, CA
- This October Linda Caviness, Ph.D., associate professor of curriculum
and instruction in the School of Education at La Sierra University, was
awarded a grant for a computer and research software by the Lassen Foundation.
Dr. Caviness was given the grant to continue research on brain
function as it relates to the education process. The Lassen Foundation
is a non-profit group that helps fund health and nutrition research.
“This technology benefits my research in neuroscience, especially while
I’m off campus,” said Dr. Caviness. “It has also created dynamic
possibilities for networking and dialoguing with professionals on other university
sites.”
The grant, which amounted to $5734.92, includes high-resolution imaging
software that Dr. Caviness is using to study brain images. She is also
using the computer to facilitate online focus group discussion among
other education researchers and neuroscientists.
