New students are required to attend two special orientation events designed specially to help them easily transition into the La Sierra community. 

Summer Orientation

All new students are required to attend a two-day Summer Orientation, hosted by the Center for Student Academic Success (C-SAS). By the end of the orientation, you will have registered for your Fall quarter classes.

 

  • Space is limited. Hurry and register for Summer Orientation!
  • Choose to stay on campus (for FREE) and you might leave with a new iTouch!! (One will be raffled every week…hurry and register!)
  • A $300 scholarship will be awarded to students who meet specific criteria.

  

Parents: you are invited and encouraged to attend Parent Orientation, held the first day of each of the Summer Orientation sessions.

What Will I Do During Summer Orientation?

  • Complete math and English placement tests to determine which level of English and math you will take.
  • Speak to a financial counselor about what is required for financial clearance.
  • Complete health physical and clear immunizations (if not already done).
  • Secure residential arrangements for Fall quarter.
  • Clear registration holds.
  • Get advised and registered for Fall quarter courses.
  • Obtain official student ID card and parking permit.
  • Meet your future classmates, administrators, faculty and staff. 

Register for your Orientation

IGNITE

All in-coming freshmen are required to attend IGNITE, hosted by the Student Life team. IGNITE begins with your move into the residence halls and continues with several days of fun and helpful activities to help you get to know your new classmates, faculty, and staff.  You’ll get acquainted with the La Sierra campus and learn from students who have been where you are now and want to help you get established.
