Riverside, CA – La Sierra University received the second place “Most Beautiful Award” for the table they decorated and entered at the 25th Annual Mayors’ Ball for the Arts, an annual fund-gathering event for the Riverside Arts Council.

“We spent $75 on the table,” says Jodi Cahill, Director of Homebase Ministries at La Sierra University and table decorations coordinator for the Ball. “We used artifacts given by our own students from Palau and Pompeii. We built an island fantasy wood carving and used a lot of flowers. We also shopped at 99 cents stores. Our theme was Micronesia.”

The Riverside Arts Council hosted the 25th Mayors’ Ball for the Arts; entitled “Islands of the World” that took place September 20. The Mayors’ Ball raises funds for the Arts Council’s Community Arts Partnership Program, which provides funds for performing and visual arts projects for all ages including those of under-served populations in schools, health, and human services agencies, parks and public facilities throughout the cities of Riverside County.
