Dr. Salvatore G. Rotella, President of Riverside Community College, gave the Address during the La Sierra University Academic Convocation held on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in the La Sierra University Church

 

What:  

La Sierra University welcomes the new school year with Academic Convocation Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. in the La Sierra University Church.

 

Who:  

Guest speaker Salvatore G. Rotella, President of Riverside Community College in Riverside, California. Dr. Rotella holds a Ph.D. degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago. He has particular interest in comparative government and public administration. His address to La Sierra University was entitled “Higher Education at a Major Crossroad.”

Why:  

A La Sierra University tradition is a convocation to celebrate the beginning of each academic year.

LSU Professors play Scherzo from Trio in D Minor, Op. 49
 
The musical selection Scherzo from Trio in D Minor, Op. 49 by Felix Mendelssohn, was performed during the La Sierra University Academic Convocation by Jason Uyeyama, LSU Associate Professor of Music, violin; Jeffry Kaatz, LSU Vice President for Advancement and University Relations, cello; and Kimo Smith, LSU Chair, Music Department, piano.
