Henrik Ibsen was a major playwright of the late 19th century and
considered by many as the “Father of Modern Drama.”
The play, “An Enemy of the People,” is about the life
of Dr. Stockmann, a man who presses for changes to be made to the
medicinal baths in his hometown, but the town turns on him. He,
thus, lashes out at the people. Dr. Stockmann is motivated both
by his anger and by true realizations about the corruption of the
town.
