| Dr. Geraty Receives ASPA Award | ||||

Fisher Riverside, CA –Dr. Lawrence T. Geraty, President of La Sierra University, was awarded the "Outstanding Education Administrator" award June 12, 2003 from the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), Inland Empire Chapter. The ceremony to honor Dr. Geraty took place at the Victoria Club in Riverside.
Nominations are made by the members of the local chapter and selected by the ASPA Board of Directors. ASPA is made up mostly of government officials (federal, state, county, city), including members of the judiciary. Mayor Ron Loveridge of Riverside introduced Dr. Geraty and talked about his reputation in archaeology and his role in ASOR (American Society of Oriental Research). Loveridge spoke about the notable progress La Sierra University has made under Dr. Geraty's administration and how he brought La Sierra into the community, commenting on his involvement in organizations like Raincross Club, Monday Morning Group, Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, and United Way. . . . . . . . . . . .
