Friday, June 14, 8 p.m., Consecration Service, LSU Church–Steve Daily, associate pastor of the Garden Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church and former LSU campus chaplain, is speaking on "God's Dope: Humility, Humor and Hope." The evening will close with a "Graduate-Alumni" reception on the LSU Church Courtyard sponsored by the LSU Alumni Association for the newest "to-be" alumni.

Saturday, June 15, 10:50 a.m., Worship Service, LSU Church–Dr. John W. Webster, professor of Theology and History of Christianity at the LSU School of Religion, will be speaking to the graduates on the topic "We Had Hoped . . ."

Saturday, June 15, 4:00 p.m., Teacher Dedication, Matheson Chapel–The Teacher Dedication service will feature a homily by Dr. Norman D. Powell, retiring dean of the LSU School of Education.

Saturday, June 15, 6:00 p.m., Commencement Concert, Hole Memorial Auditorium–The annual Commencement Concert featuring outstanding performers from the Senior Class of 2002, will be held in Hole Memorial Auditorium.

Sunday, June 16, 8:00 a.m., Conferring of Degrees, Founders' Green–The Conferring of Degrees program begins at 8:00 a.m. on Founders' Green. Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez, 1987 Nobel Peace Laureate and President of Costa Rica from 1986-1990, will be speaking on "Enlightened Leadership for a Complex World." Dr. Arias will also be inducted into the Path of the Just. Presidential awards and citations will be presented to: outstanding graduates Curtis Castro and Luke Robinson; distinguished faculty researcher Dr. L. Lee Grismer; Dr. Israel and Mrs. Rosalba Chambi will be honored for their community service; Councilwoman Laura Pearson for service to Riverside, Press-Enterprise President Marcia McQuern for service to the Inland Empire. During the service, honorary degrees will be conferred upon Myung Hong, Fritz Guy, and Oscar Arias Sanchez. The Class of 2002 will be welcomed to the alumni associations by W. Robert Fawke, former president of the LSU Alumni Association, and by Dr. M. Leon Seard, president of the Black Alumni of Loma Linda and La Sierra Universities (BALL).

The Brandstater Gallery is currently featuring art and design work of four graduates–Lidia Kang, Adam Lee, Eva Nguyen Erhard, and Elisa Ramos. The Brandstater Gallery will open immediately after the Conferring of Degrees until 3:00 p.m.
