Riverside, Calif., April, 2000-- The La Sierra University School of Business and Management presents the next Paul Cone Distinguished Guest Lecture Series on Thursday, April 6, 11 a.m., in Matheson Chapel. The featured guest speaker is Vern Freeh of the Russian Farm Community Project. His topic is "The Cold War is Over, Now the Real Work Begins." Freeh is an inspiring speaker who captivates audiences through his use of personal experiences - and he has an abundance of those. Born on a Depression-era farm in North Dakota, his career has taken him to 60 countries and involved him in a broad range of business, education and development activities in 20 countries - including Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Freeh is an internationally recognized authority on agriculture, cooperatives and the socioeconomic forces that are shaping the world. Beyond his geopolitical expertise, Freeh's repertoire of exciting anecdotes is what keeps him in demand as a public speaker. He has spent time with a number of world figures including Anwar Sadat and Fidel Castro, worked as a top executive at a Fortune 500 company, had his own television program, was once inducted into a collegiate athletic hall of fame, and has even been knighted. Freeh now dedicates his energy to sharing with others his experiences, insights and ideas for building a more peaceful, stable and productive world.
