Welcome to On-Campus Living
Dear Resident,
Welcome to an adventure of a life-time, residential living! You will be remembering and talking about the people you meet and the experiences you will have for the rest of your life. The Department of Residential Life welcomes you, is excited to have you here, and hopes you are ready to jump-in with both feet to fully engage in campus life.
Campus housing is central to the campus life, therefore everything you need is at your finger tips. With a short walk you can eat at the Dining Commons, study in the library, get to your classes without having to get up early, find computer resources in MICOL, work-out at the Fitness Center, and hang-out with friends at the Eagle's Nest. The Department of Residential Life provides the opportunity for you to interact with really awesome students from many different countries and culture. How cool is it to have a friend from another culture while learning about social norms around the globe and broaden your world-view? La Sierra University is known for its diverse student population. Having the opportunity to live with others different from you will also teach you about the common aspects of the human experience and the most important thing, how to get along with others.
As you enroll at La Sierra, you also bring something very important, your personal experience, enthusiasm, and energy. What will you teach others about yourself? Living in a residence hall is not always easy and by providing this guide we hope to lessen the confusion about boundaries and gudelines that are common to all. In return, we ask you to be a responsible citizen of the community who shows concern, respect, and care for those around you. We know that you can do it by simply applying the golden rule: treat others as you would like to be treated.
The Department of Residential Life is committed to providing you a supportive environment and to address your needs in a timely way. Contact any of your deans or RAs for questions that you may have, things you are concerned about, or suggestions you may have. We hope that this will be a terrific year for you at LSU. Thanks for choosing us this year and do not hesitate to let us know how we can help you.
Sincerely Yours,
Nancy Guerpo,
Director of Residential Life
