Tuition & Financial Aid

Taking the next step in education is a personal investment in your own future. At La Sierra University, we have a student-centered focus when it comes to the quality and cost of your education. By providing you with competitive tuition costs, eliminating many of those pesky additional fees, freezing tuition based upon your rate at program entry, and offering free access to our highly qualified Student Financial Services staff, you can be free to focus on your education.

For financial aid and financial advising, Denyu Miller, from the La Sierra University Student Financial Services Office, is available for students in our programs. You can contact Denyu Miller at: 951-785-2175 ext. 2943 or email him at dsmiller@lasierra.edu

Tuition Cost

Cost per unit: $755 for 2012-2013. Total cost for the regular program is $36,240 for students beginning during 2012-13 academic year enrolled in the traditional 48-unit program. Your tuition is frozen at the current rate of the year you begin, as long as you don’t break residency. The La Sierra MBA program is one of the best values for private education on the market today. La Sierra offers financial aid to help you cover the costs of your graduate education, and your employer may also have educational assistance available.

Financial Aid

Information you need to know as an Executive Education Off-Campus student:
  • Confirm your student Status with Admission & Records or School of Business Contact
  • If you are expecting Financial Aid, apply for FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov
What kind of Federal Aid would I be eligible for?
  • Professional MBA students are only eligible for Federal Loans. Maximum loans for graduate students for a school year would be $20,500; however, amount may vary based on the individual student loan aggregate and total number of units that will be completed for the school year. PMBA students must be enrolled for a minimum 4 units per quarter to be eligible for financial aid (loans).

Note: For new and returning students, our Loan process has changed. We are no longer using private lenders to process your federal loans. All federal loans will be process through the Department of Education using the following website www.studentloans.gov. Using your FAFSA pin, please complete your Mastery Promissory and Loan Entrance Counseling so as to expedite the processing of your financial aid.

If you are not planning on using financial aid or your financial aid will not cover your tuition costs, you are expected to pay in full as soon as you register. For further information regarding your finances, please contact Denyu Miller in the office of Student Financial Services at: 951-785-2175 ext. 2943 or email him at dsmiller@lasierra.edu

How-to Guides

Course Equivalency

Click here for a simple guide to courses from other institutions we accept as equivalent to certain waivable requirements in our programs.

About Waiving Courses/Requirements

Students who have completed previous undergraduate or graduate academic coursework in business areas may be able to waive certain classes in the MBA program, including Foundation classes (which would reduce the overall number of units required to complete the program), and certain course-specific requirements of regular (non-Foundation) degree requirements (which does not reduce the overall units required, but allows a student to advance his or her knowledge by taking different coursework in its place).

La Sierra University has determined the course equivalency of certain undergraduate business classes offered at other Seventh-day Adventist colleges and universities to the undergraduate classes offered at La Sierra University. These classes, or combinations of these classes, may be used to waive MBA program requirements.

To view a chart indicating which undergraduate classes at other SDA institutions are accepted as equivalent to those offered at La Sierra University, please CLICK HERE.

If a student wishes to use one or more of these classes listed on the equivalency chart, she or he should email such a request to the MBA Advisor indicating which class(es) is/are suggested for waiver of the La Sierra requirement(s).

Mrs. Heather Miller
Email: hmiller@lasierra.edu

If a student wishes to request a waiver based on previous coursework that does not appear on the equivalency chart, she or he will need to make a formal request of the program coordinator in that area, and provide appropriate supporting documentation (syllabus of the course(s) being requested as waivers, and copy of a transcript showing units and grade earned), and copy the MBA advisor on the request. Below is the name and contact information for the program coordinators and for which areas each is responsible:

Email: profreynolds@sbcglobal.net

Requests for classes in Management and Marketing:

Email: erizkall@lasierra.edu
