History

In 1922, our first bulletin proclaimed that students would "learn to render effective service." And ever since, students have discovered ways to act out their Christian faith at La Sierra University.

As they built an academically challenging program, professors dedicated themselves to their students. In 1946, the first year of formal accreditation, the student yearbook tells how "Christian teachers...reflect in their lives...the Great Teacher."

In 1967, Loma Linda University recognized our excellent undergraduate programs as we joined them to form a two-campus university. And although formal ties ended in 1990, our pre-professional programs still benefit from that relationship.

Today, La Sierra University remains committed to passing on our Christian values. Our community of learning is also a community of faith that prepares students to serve wherever they go in the world.
