When you use Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to view a Web page that contains image files, you may experience the following behavior:

  • Some of the images do not appear on the Web page.
  • Internet Explorer may no longer display images until you restart the program.

Visit this page on Microsoft's web site for solutions to this problem.

The alternative to using Microsoft's web browser is to download and use the FireFox web browser. FireFox is available for Windows, MacOS X, and Linux.

Disclaimer: Though we use this browser extensively on campus, and we are suggesting that you try it to solve the problems you are experiencing, neither La Sierra University, nor any of its representatives offer any warranty, expressed or implied to the usability, or stability of the Firefox web browser. You should read all supporting information on Mozilla’s website until you feel comfortable with downloading or using their product(s).

Visit this page to download the FireFox web browser.

When I print your PDF documents there are no spaces between the words.

If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat 4.0 and running Windows 95 or Windows 98, to certain types of printers, you may experience problems with your documents. You may find that there are no spaces between words.

Visit this page on Adobe's web site for solutions to this problem.

The font is very small when I look at pages on your web site. What can be done about this?

The font size we use on our web site is such that it shows well on computer screens set to display at 640x480 and 800x600. Any size (screen resolution) greater than either of these (such as 1024x768 or 1152x870) will make the text appear extremely tiny. If you'd rather not adjust your screen resolution, you may also force your web browser to increase its font display size. Some browsers include a button for such adjustments right on the browser window. These adjustments often apply ONLY to the particular window you are using at the time, and will last only until you close the window.
