La Sierra University (LSU) will offer an intensive, high-contact educational program for students interested in increasing their English skills and deepening their understanding of American culture. Participating ESL students will build close, supportive relationships with LSU students who will act as their tutors and “buddies.”

Instruction will take place on the campus of La Sierra University. The curriculum will feature instruction in English-language reading, writing, and speaking and in various aspects of American culture. Instruction will take place over a period of three consecutive weeks. Approximately fifteen hours of in-class instruction will take place each week. Classes will be scheduled Monday through Friday mornings for approximately three hours.

For approximately four hours during two afternoons every week, students will engage in appropriate out-of-class activities with their buddies. Each buddy will work with a group of five students or less. LSU will organize appropriate cultural activities for students enrolled in the program.

A student must be at least fifteen years old to participate in the program.
