Any full-time LSU faculty or administrator with academic appointment may
apply to the university research funds.
- Submit
2 hard copies of the application form, proposal, and project budget to
the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (228 Administration building,
Phone 2075) by the deadline announced.
- Submission
of the application via e-mail or fax is not accepted.
- The
proposed project should be an original research that may lead to an external
grant, presentation, or publication.
- Revision
of the submitted proposal is not allowed, but additional information may
be accepted.
- University
Research Funds support up to 2,800 dollars per project.
- The
University Research Committee will announce the award decision in March.
- The
awarded funds may be available in April.
- The
University Research Committee may take into consideration the fact that
the schools have different amounts of funding available for faculty research
support. Faculty should try their school's funding support first if funds
are available.
- The
recipients of University Research Funds must submit a final report on
their research activities to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research
by the end of September of the following academic year.
- The
University Research Committee members include, Dale Clayton, Bailey Gillespie, Gloria
Hicinbothom, Winona Howe, Chang-ho Ji, George Ogum, Marvin Payne, Elvin
Rodriguez, and Won Yoon, Chair.
