Cola Cola Scholars Program

Criteria: Open to all majors. Applicant is awarded based on merit, leadership, and community involvement. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements must apply prior to OCTOBER 31 of their senior year of high school.
Applicants MUST Be:

The Phillips Foundation – Ronald Reagan College Foundation Leaders Scholarship program\

Criteria: Open to all majors. The scholarship was designed in the intention to alleviate the financial burdens associated with higher education, permitting the winners to devote more time both to pursuing their academic goals and advancing their leadership initiatives. Criteria: Open to all majors. Applicants need not be citizens of the United States; however, they must be candidates for the doctoral degree at a graduate school within the United States. These fellowships are not intended to finance data collection or the completion of doctoral coursework, but rather to support the final analysis of the research topic and the writing of the dissertation. National Association of Hispanic Journalists

Criteria: Open to Hispanic students in the field of journalism.
1. COMMITMENT TO THE FIELD OF JOURNALISM — Students must demonstrate an interest and desire to pursue a career in the field of journalism. This applies to students who are planning careers in English or Spanish-language media. Students do not have to be journalism majors to be eligible for NAHJ scholarships.
2. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT — There is no minimum grade point average to qualify for NAHJ scholarships. However, earning good grades is always important. Academic performance will play a role in deciding which students are awarded scholarships.
3. FINANCIAL NEED — The economic status of a student's household will be taken into consideration in making scholarship selections.
4. AWARENESS OF THE COMMUNITY — The Latino community is the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. population. Student journalists need to be aware of issues that face the Latino community and Latinos in the newsroom while striving to portray all people in a fair and accurate manner in coverage of stories.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation

Criteria: The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in that field.

Minorities

National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science

Criteria: Applicant must be part of a minority ethnic group pursuing doctoral degrees in the natural science disciplines – Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Biological Sciences, and Computer Science. Applicant must be in their junior undergraduate year or currently enrolled in a Master’s program.

American Political Science Association – Minority Fellows Program

Criteria: Applicant must be a Political Science major applying to a doctoral study program.

OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS

United Kingdom

Marshall Scholarship

Criteria: Open to all majors. Applicant must be an undergraduate senior or graduate interested in studying in the UK.
Deadline: October 4

GRADS: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden

American-Scandinavian Foundation: Grant, Fellowship

Criteria: Open to all majors, for study/research in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate education and have a well-defined research or study project that makes a stay in Scandinavia essential, applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. First priority will be granted to those applicants who have not previously received an ASF award. Only in exceptional cases will a third award be considered.
