American Educational Research Association

The American Educational Research Association aims at improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.

Assessment & Evaluation on the Internet

It is a heavily annotated list of links compiled by Liselle Drake and Lawrence Rudner at ERIC.

Association for Institutional Research (AIR)

Includes more than 3,100 institutional researchers, planners, and decision-makers from higher education institutions. The AIR exists to help advance research that will improve the understanding, planning, and operation of higher education institutions.

Association of American Colleges and Universities

Is the leading national association devoted to advancing and strengthening undergraduate liberal education.

California Association for Institutional Research

Fosters communication among people interested in institutional research and/or planning in California institutions of higher education. It facilitates the dissemination of relevant information and provides support for professional development of individuals engaged in institutional research and/or planning.

California Postsecondary Education Commission

This entity has statewide research, planning, needs assessment and coordination responsibilities related to higher education in California. It is an excellent source of statistical data related to higher education in this state.

Consortium for Assessment and Planning Support (CAPS)

CAPS exists to provide a forum through which practitioners in the field of higher education can share information and find group solutions to day-to-day challenges in assessment and institutional planning.

EDUCAUSE

EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.

ERIC Clearinghouse on Higher Education

ERIC-HE is one of 16 Clearinghouses funded by the Department of Education as a part of the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) System.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)

IPEDS was established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). It is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education.

National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)

NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are related to education in the United States and other nations. It is part of the U.S. Department of Education.

National Center for Post Secondary Teaching, Learning, and Assessment

This Center serves as magnet for research teams, individual faculty, visiting scholars, and graduate research assistants working to improve practice and policy-making in higher education.

National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME)

The NCME is a professional organization for individuals involved in assessment, evaluation, testing, and other aspects of educational measurement. Members are involved in the construction and use of standardized tests; new forms of assessment, including performance-based assessment, program design, and program evaluation.

National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (NPEC).

The NPEC's mission is to promote the quality, comparability and utility of postsecondary data and information that support policy development at the federal, state, and institutional levels.

Society for College and University Planning

A network of professionals dedicated to excellence in planning for higher education.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

WASC is one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States.
