The implementation of Banner 7 is on going right now.  We have targeted the following timeline for Banner 7 upgrades. 

The tentative plans may change should there be any unavoidable technical issues.

     BAN7: Pre-Test Environment - Oct 2005:

  • Upgrade Banner 6.x to Banner 7 in Pre-Test Database - BAN7
  • Technical Test - concentrates on Banner 7 baseline forms and LSU mods.
  • Apps server connectivity will be tested.
  • No compilation of Cobol and ProC are done and not fully working system.

     PPRD: Pre-Production Development Database - March 2006:

  • Upgrade Banner 6.x to Banner 7
  • Comprehensive Technical testing will be done to simulate production environment. All forms (baseline & Mods),
  • reports will be tested.
  • Banner components in Apps server will be extensively tested.
  • Each Banner module must be tested and reviewed by assigned technical users (mandatory).
  • User Training

Last day to submit issues - PPRD.  However, testing continues but solution not guarantee.

What LSU Banner users can do?

  • Review documentation & manuals provided at this site.  Understand your module processes.
  • Start using Internet Native Banner 6 (INB) now.  Banner client will no longer be used in Banner 7. Get adjusted to web browser.
