This page will list simple step by step instructions on becoming an employee here La Sierra.

  1. Browse through the job listing online to see what interests you. In addition, you can visit the Administration Building and see what jobs are available on campus. Student employment opportunities are posted on a bulletin board in the hallway, across from the Ladies Room near the Human Resources Office. This information is updated as needed and reflects the most current jobs at La Sierra. If you see a position of interest to you, please fill out an application at Huma Resources and contact the department with the opening directly.
  2. Most deparments will require a clerical test, for which you will need to make an appointment in Human Resources. The test will assess your abilities in the following areas: Basic Math, Petty Cash, Keyboarding, Alpha Filing, Numeric Filing and Proofreading. The only timed section of the test is Keyboarding, and it consists of a three minute warm-up and a five minute typing test.
  3. Certain documents are needed to verify your indentity and legal right to work in the US. Please review the Required Documents page of this site, for more information. For payroll purposes you will also need to provide your social security card. You must provide these documents to Human Resources, otherwise you will not be able to work.
  4. Once you have submitted an approved contract in Human Resources, completed the additional required paperwork, completed the appropriate assessments-if required, and provided the appropriate required documentation, you will receive a Clearance to Work Form, to give to your Supervisor. You may not begin working without having received a Clearance to Work Form from Human Resources.
  5. For those prospective students, it is in your best interest to look for a job on campus the summer before you start your freshman year. Jobs tend to get filled quickly at the beginning of the year, so it is advantageous to act as soon as possible.
