The Seventh-day Adventist Church founded La Sierra University in the scenic Southern California City of Riverside in 1922. Brief Description: The dean is the chief officer of the school, responsible for maintaining academic quality in harmony with the mission and purposes of the university. In this role the primary concerns of the dean include curriculum development and faculty recruitment and support. Responsibilities include all aspects of administration, including planning, budgeting, friendbuilding and fundraising, program coordination, and communication with other units within and outside the university.

Qualifications: SKILL: Candidate must possess the ability to manage and motivate others, develop and follow budgets, organize workflow, communicate effectively, and teach effectively. EDUCATION: An earned academic doctorate. EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have, at least, 10 years of college or university teaching experience, the rank of professor, and experience in pastoral ministry. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: There are none specifically associated with this job.

Position Available: July 1, 2008

Salary Range: $63,793 - $78,321 annually
