RAEJIN LEE
Soprano Raejin Lee has an active performing career, with appearances throughout the United States, Italy, and Korea in oratorio, recital, and opera. She has performed such roles as Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Giulietta in I Capuletti e i Montecchi, Despina in Così fan tutte, and Laetitia in The Old Maid and The Thief. Dr. Lee has received many honors and awards, including a special prize for her distinguished performance of the Italian Art Song repertoire from the Italian America Cultural Foundation. Her biography has been listed in several of the prestigious Marquise, Who’s Who reference books including; Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women. She was a featured soloist in the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble at Indiana University, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She received an Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music and she completed her doctoral studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey as a student of Faith Esham. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Dr. Lee is currently Director of Vocal Studies at La Sierra University. She resides in Yorba Linda with her husband Justin, and their two daughters, Ashley and Olivia.

Preparation of recitatives, arias, duets, ensembles, and scenes from the operatic literature, including choruses, for performance during the quarter. Works will be staged with costumes or performed concert style. Attention will be given to appropriate style and performance practice.
MUED 327 (2) Vocal Pedagogy
A study of the pedagogical techniques used in the private vocal studio with an emphasis on voice science, the psychology of singing, and vari- ous vocal repertoires encountered in the studio environment. Offered even years (2011-2012).
MUHL 329 Song (2) Vocal Literature
A survey of art song literature including the German Lied; French mé- lodie; and Italian, Spanish, English, and American art song, with an emphasis on class performance presentation. Offered even years (2011- 2012). Prerequisite: 6 units (minimum) MUPF 129A with a minimum grade of B
