Background:

Andrew Howe completed his doctorate at the University of California, Riverside, in 2005. His dissertation examined the historical and aesthetic development of the avant-garde movement in the United States. His interests include popular culture, film studies, and twentieth-century American history.

Vietnam War & Its Aftermath

Research:

During the 2006-07 school year, Dr. Howe will present papers on the following topics: Voodoo documentaries (Film & History conference-Dallas); the Americanization of Sherlock Holmes (Popular Culture Association-Boston); and, the importance of faith in the films of M. Night Shyamalan (meetings of the Adventist Seventh-day Adventist Historians-Huntsville).
