Welcome to La Sierra University (LSU)! There are several steps that you need to take before you enroll as a new transfer student.

Get started soon! Get registered by August 31 to be eligible for a scholarship. For details, click here.

Step 1: OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Request that your official transcripts be mailed directly from each school
you have attended to:

       La Sierra University
       Office of Admissions & Records
       4500 Riverwalk Parkway
       Riverside, CA 92515-8247

Step 2: CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE TO LSU

Once the Office of Admissions & Records determines your acceptance, Maritza Aoyagi, Records Specialist, will e-mail you requesting that you confirm your decision to attend LSU.
  • REPLY to the e-mail as soon as possible to inform the Office of Admissions & Records of your decision. The process to review your transcripts and determine course equivalencies will NOT begin until you reply to this e-mail. Allow 2-4 weeks for your transcript(s) to be processed.
  • Once your transcripts are reviewed, you will receive an e-mail informing you that course equivalencies have been determined.
  • For any questions, you may contact Maritza Aoyagi at (951) 785-2930 or by e-mail at maoyagi@lasierra.edu.

Step 3: PLACEMENT TESTING

Placement exams determine what level of English and math courses students will take.
  • Students transferring appropriate college-level English and/or math credit are not required to take the placement exams. For this reason, it is important to have your official transcripts mailed to LSU as soon as possible.
  • To determine if you need testing or to schedule your placement exam(s), call the Learning Support & Testing Center at (951) 785-2896.
  • Each test costs $20 and requires a valid photo ID.
It is recommended that students who will take placement exams study the online resources here.

Step 4: ACADEMIC ADVISING & ALTERNATE PIN

Academic advising and scheduling of classes takes place after placement testing has been determined and completed (if applicable) AND after your transcripts have been received and reviewed.

  • After receiving confirmation that your transcripts have been reviewed, contact the Center for Student Academic Success (C-SAS) at (951) 785-2452 or by e-mail at advising@lasierra.edu to request an advisor. Allow one to two business days for a response.
  • The name and contact information of your assigned advisor will be e-mailed to you. Contact your assigned advisor and schedule an advising appointment.
  • Alternate PIN: Every quarter students receive a new Alternate PIN that is necessary to register for classes. Your advisor will provide you with this Alternate PIN.

Step 5: STUDENT SELF-SERVICE ACCOUNT

Before you can clear registration holds and register for classes online, you need to set up your Student Self-Service Account.
Enter LSU ID and 6-digit Web PIN (Web pin is your six-digit birthday, MMDDYY), then click "LOGIN" (If you have any
problems with your pin, contact the registrar's office immediately by calling (951) 785-2006. Reset pin number
(6 digits NO letters) and enter a security question.

If you have difficulty accessing your student account, you can stop by the C-SAS (Sierra Vista Hall, Room 114) or call (951) 785-2452.
