Laboratory Information
CHEM 372L, 373L
There is no lab associated with the first quarter of organic chemistry.
Lab meets the first week of classes, please check with instructor for a syllabus and schedule. The lab text is available for purchase from the on campus bookstore only.
Goggles are provided as part of your laboratory fees.
You must purchase a breakage ticket ($20) from the Cashier (lower level of the Administration Building). This breakage ticket is to be turned in to the stockroom by the second lab period, we prefer it be turned in the first day lab meets.
If you check into a locker you must check out no later than the final day that lab meets, even if you drop the class! If you do not check out of your locker on time a $5 fee will be charged.
Lecture Information
CHEM 371, 372, 373
You must have completed CHEM 111, 112, 113 with a C or better to enroll. Exceptions are NOT granted.
You must have passed CHEM 371 with a C or better to enroll in CHEM 372; you must have passed CHEM 372 with a C or better to enroll in CHEM 373. Exceptions are NOT granted.
The laboratory course is a required co-requisite for the lecture for CHEM 372 and 373.
Homework is completed on-line and by regular paper. Paper based assignments will be posted.
On-line access must be purchased to do the on-line portion of the homework (this access is associated with
a different textbook--McMurray 7th ed.--so please note the ISBN given for purchasing).

The required text is Organic Chemistry by T.W. Graham Solomons and Craig B. Fryhle, 9th edition published by Wiley (ISBN 978-0-471-68496-1).
Recommended materials include the solutions manual to the textbook (available at the bookstore) and an organic chemistry model kit (available through on-line retailers).
