Despite the extremely hot and dry conditions the Mens Soccer Team got its 3rd consecutive win with a 5 - 0 away result against San Diego Christian College. Shane Shelton opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a 20 yard strike on a pass from Luis Escamilla. The second came at the 39th minute from defender Shawn Moon on a beautifully placed free kick. LSU made it 3 - 0 just before half time when Luis Escamilla added his second goal of the season on a pass from Jesus Moreno at the 44th minute. The guys were able to keep their composure and added two more goals in the second half. Jose Moreno got on the score sheet for the third game in a row with a header that beat the keeper at 46th minute. The fifth and final goal came at the 73 minute from new comer Anthony Trevino in his debut game for LSU on a pass from his brother Carlos Trevino. LSU's high scoring performance was matched by a stubborn defense which has not conceded a goal in the last two games consecutively. This is a great win for the men and gives them confidence for their big task ahead, they will be traveling to Santa Cruz this weekend to face off against D III powerhouse UC Santa Cruz.
