KANSAS CITY, MO.-   LA SIERRA PLACES TWO PLAYERS ON ALL-INDEPENDENT TEAM.......

LSU's Kenny Curiel and Chris Pope was named today to the NCAA D-3 All-

Independent Baseball Squad.

Curiel was named to the 3rd team as a outfielder with a .468 batting average

with 12 rbi's and scored 13 runs.

Pope was named as an Honorable Mention as a utility player with a .326 batting

average, 10 rbi's and scored 6 runs.

Congratulations to Chris and Kenny!!!!!

 

APRIL 26, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   LSU END THE SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE SWEEPING DOUBLEHEADER...........

The Golden Eagles ended the tough 2009 season on a high note defeating Cal Tech in a

doubleheader, 8-2 and 17-8.

La Sierra ends the season with a 4-22 record.

 

APRIL 24, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   CSSM DEFEATS LA SIERRA IN DOUBLEHEADER........

La Sierra University was defeated Friday afternoon in a doubleheader, 25-11 and 17-8

by Cal State San Marcos.

 In the first game ,LSU bright spot came in the six inning when the Golden Eagles scored nine runs.

La Sierra's Ken Curiel, Matt Rodgers and Mike Ebbink drove in two runs apiece.

In the second game, Chris Pope and Ricky Harris drove in two runs apiece.

LSU next game is Sunday, April 26 at home against Cal Tech @ 12 noon.

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   THE EAGLES OF CONCORDIA DEFEATS THE GOLDEN EAGLES .......

Concordia University defeated La Sierra University Tuesday afternoon, 42-4. LSU next

game will be Friday, April 24th at 12 noon against Cal State San Marcos @ home.

 

APRIL 9, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES GO DOWN   HARD AGAINST WESTMONT.......

La Sierra University was defeated Thursday afternoon by Westmont College, 20-2.

LSU only bright spot came in the second inning when Curtis Mitchell hit a 2-run homer

over the left field fence scoring Chris Pope.

LSU next game is Tuesday, April 21st @ 2pm against Concordia University.

 

APRIL 7, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   SDCC HITS THE GOLDEN EAGLES HARD IN DOUBLEHEADER......

The Golden Eagles was defeated Tuesday afternoon by San Diego Christian College

in a doubleheader, 17-3 and 18-5.

LSU next game is Thursday, April 9th against Westmont College at 2pm.

 

MARCH 22, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER WITH PRINCIPIA COLLEGE.....

The Golden Eagles split a doubleheader with Principia College losing the first game 4-3 but

winning the second game 6-4. Jeremy Hunt sparked the Golden Eagles in the second game

with his glove, speed, and leadership for LSU.

La Sierra's next game is Tuesday, April 7th at home against San Diego Christian College at noon.

It will be a doubleheader.

 

MARCH 15, 2009

LA VERNE, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES ROUGHED UP BY THE LEOPARDS.....

University of La Verne defeated La Sierra University 22-10 Sunday afternoon.

Pitcher Kenny Curiel had a great day at the plate going 4-4 with 3 rbi's for LSU.

Matt Rodgers for LSU drove in 3 runs also for the Golden Eagles.

LSU next game is Sunday, March 22nd at home against Principia College. It will

be a doubleheader.

 

MARCH 13, 2009

RIVERSIDE, CA.- KEAN UNIVERSITY HANGS ON TO DEFEAT LSU......

La Sierra University battled hard but came up short losing to Kean University Friday

afternoon, 13-8. The Golden Eagles got good production from Mike Mitchell who had

3 hits, the Harris brothers,Ricky and Ryan who combined had 4 hits and 2 rbi's,

Kenny Curiel who was 2-2 at the plate and drove in 1 run and Curtis Mitchell who

doubled in the ninth inning to drive in 2 runs.

LSU next game is Sunday, March 15th against University of La Verne at 11am in LaVerne,Ca.

SAN DIEGO , CA.-   CAL STATE SAN MARCOS DEFEATS THE GOLDEN EAGLES......

La Sierra University was defeated Friday afternoon, 7-1 by CSSM.

LSU next game will be against Kean University at home @ 2pm.

SAN DIEGO, CA.-   SDCC HITS LA SIERRA HARD.......

The Golden Eagles was defeated Tuesday afternoon 27-5 by San Diego Christian College.

LSU next game is Friday, March 12th against CSSM at home.

 

FEBRUARY 24, 2009

CLAREMONT, CA.-   CMS DEFEATS THE GOLDEN EAGLES.......

La Sierra University (1-11) was defeated by Claremont Mudd-Scripps College Tuesday

afternoon in a makeup game that was postponed on February 13th, 33-3.

Steve Dannaway led CMS with 4 hits, 5 rbi's and scored 3 runs.

La Sierra's Mike Ebbink had 2 rbi's and 1 hit.

LSU next game is Tuesday, March 10th against San Diego Christian College at 2pm in

San Diego, California.

 

FEBRUARY 22, 2009

SAN DIEGO, CA.-   CSSM EXPLODES FOR 45 RUNS IN DOUBLEHEADER.....

La Sierra University (1-10) lost to Cal State San Marcos Sunday afternoon, 19-4 and 26-3.

In the first game, LSU Matt Rodgers had 2 hits and 2 rbi's.

In the second game, Rodgers had 2 hits and 1 rbi and Kenny Curiel had 2 hits.

LSU next game is Tuesday, March 10th at San Diego Christain College @ 2pm.

FEBRUARY 15, 2009

PASADENA, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES WIN THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON......

La Sierra University (1-8) defeated Cal Tech 12-5 to win their first game in 2009.

Pitcher Kenny Curiel got his first victory of the season.

LSU next game is Sunday, February 22nd at 11am against Cal State San Marcos in

San Diego, California.

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES TOPPLED BY CAL LUTHERAN......

Cal Lutheran University defeated La Sierra University (0-8) Wednesday afternoon, 29-8.

Secondbasemen,Landon Smith of Cal Lutheran led the charge going 4-5 at the plate with

4 rbi's and scoring 3 runs.

LSU's Ricky Harris had 3 hits and 2 rbi's and Mike Mitchell had 2 hits and 2 rbi's.

La Sierra's next game is Friday, February 13th against Claremont Mudd-Scripps College

at 2:30pm in Claremont, California.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA.-   CAL LUTHERAN POWER PAST THE GOLDEN EAGLES OF LA SIERRA......

La Sierra University (0-7) was defeated in a Sunday doubleheader, 15-2 and 27-2 .

In the eighth inning Mike Mitchell and Scott Reed scored 2 unearned runs in the first  game and

in the second game Art Rahe and Dennis Flores scored unearned runs in the eighth inning.

LSU next game is Friday, February 13th @ 2:30pm against Claremont Mudd-Scripps College.

RIVERSIDE, CA.-   LSU DROPS A DOUBLEHEADER TO THE TIGERS OF OCCIDENTAL.....

La Sierra University (0-5) was defeated 8-7 and 11-4, Sunday afternoon by Occidental College.

The Golden Eagles next game is Friday, February 6th against Cal Lutheran University at home

@ 12 noon.

EAGLE ROCK, CA.-   THE GOLDEN EAGLES DEFEATED BY A TOUGH OXY'S SQUAD......

La Sierra University (0-3)  was defeated Friday 12-8 by Occidental College.

Kenny Curiel from La Sierra went 2-4 with a homerun.

LSU next game is Sunday, February 1st at home against Oxy's again @ 1pm.

 

JANUARY 25, 2009

IRVINE, CA.-   LA SIERRA LOSES SEASON OPENER........

The Golden Eagles (0-2) was defeated by the Eagles of Concordia University, 24-2 and 5-0.

In the first game, LSU had rbi's by Ricky Harris and Matt Rogers.

La Sierra next game is Friday, January 30th at Occidental College @ 11am.

                       

Kansas City, Mo.-          THE GOLDEN EAGLES PLACE 1 PLAYER ON 2008 ALL-INDEPENDENT TEAM

                                       On Thursday, May 28, 2008, La Sierra University had the honor of having

                                       1 player named to the Association of Division lll Independents Squad.

                                       Junior infielder, Scott Reed from Victorville, California was named to the

                                       Third Team All-Independent Squad.
