General Admissions Standards:
It is the purpose of the Admissions Committee to accept applicants
who are qualified for their proposed curriculum and seem likely
to profit from the educational experience. The Undergraduate Admissions
Committee examines evidence of scholastic competence, moral and
ethical standards, and significant qualities of character and personality.
A student applying by transferring from another college or
university must file with the Office of Admissions and Records
complete transcripts of all studies taken at the secondary and
college levels. Exception: Any transfer applicant who has been
awarded an AA degree OR has completed 88
quarter units or more of transferable college credit may not be
required to submit the high school transcript. A cumulative grade
point college grade point average of 2.00 or higher is required. A
transfer student is defined as a person who has completed 12 quarter
(8 semester) units of transferable college credit.
If appropriate college English and College Algebra classes have not
been completed, La Sierra University placement testing will be
required before registration. Students placing into pre-foundational
class(es) must be enrolled in appropriate pre-foundational class(es)
each quarter until all required pre-foundational class(es) are
completed.
International applicants need a score of 550 or higher on the Test
of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 86 or higher
on the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (MTELP) or a
score of 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing
System (IELTS). If score is below these levels, ESL courses will be
provided and required. Honors Program
