deadlines listed above. Complete files not received by the deadline
may result in postponement for the next quarter.

New Freshmen completing high school outside the United States
Applicants who have completed secondary school outside the United States
must present high school completion as outlined by the American Association
of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers(AACRAO) guidelines for the
particular country. [Refer to the Admission

All international transcripts and/or examination results are
initially reviewed by the Admissions Office. In some cases, transcripts
and/or examination results may need to be evaluated by an external
evaluation service in order to determine admission eligibility.
We prefer that AACRAO's Foreign Education Credential Service be
used. A fee of $150 for the course-by-course evaluation is required
by the credential service.
Applicants who were educated in a country other than the United States
[excluding Canada, the UK, Australia, or New Zealand], must submit
scores
for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)˜test must have
been
taken within the last five years. If no scores are submitted, the
applicant
will be tested prior to enrollment. If the TOEFL score is below
550 or
90%ile average on the Michigan Language Test, English as a Second
Language
courses will be required. Those applicants who have taken the GCE
O level
or equivalent examinations and have received a passing grade with
credit in
English will be eligible for regular English placement testing
rather than
ESL testing.

The I-20 form for the Student Visa will only be issued once
the applicant has been formally accepted by the University. The
following are required for issuing the I-20 form:
- Financial Guarantee
Form/Certificate for Issuance of I-20 (this is a PDF
file).
- Bank statement(s). Your sponsor's current bank statement(s).
- Copy of Passport
- International student trust deposit of $1,000. This deposit,
minus any money owed to the University, is refunded when applicant
completes program or withdraws from the University. In addition,
international students from some areas maybe required to pay the
first quarter's tuition, plus the $1,000 deposit in advance.
- Financial Plan. Obtained through your enrollment counselor. You will
be
informed of your enrollment counselor in the acknowledgement
letter that is
sent to you after receipt of your application.

Transfer Report (only required if international applicant
is transferring to La Sierra University from another United States
educational institution)
- Verification of housing - required if adding dependents.
Verification from LSU Housing Office, letter from hosting
family OR letter from management at non-LSU housing."
La Sierra University awards the above
scholarship to international students who have graduated or transferred
from
a Seventh-day Adventist academy, college, or university OR who
are members
of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Complete the form and submit
it to the
Admissions Office.
