Christian music duo The Brilliance will give a benefit concert at La Sierra University on Fri., March 16 to aid Puerto Rico.

In response to recent tragedies and catastrophes, The Brilliance will perform a musical sermon dealing with lament and how to face evil by learning to respond with love. The concert seeks to raise $3,000 for victims still struggling with the aftermath of the hurricanes in Puerto Rico last year.

“We are inviting people around our community to engage with us to go through a musical journey that will help us reimagine Christianity and society as a whole and that will give us a call to action in the end,” said Sandra Fermin, student association spiritual vice president. “The entrance is free and offerings will be for Puerto Rico relief.”

The Brilliance is a worship duo comprised of David Gungor and John Arndt who officially formed their music ministry in 2010 with the release of their self-titled album, “The Brilliance.” Both are vocalists with Gungor also on guitar and Arndt on keyboard.

The concert will be held at La Sierra’s Hole Memorial Auditorium during the university’s weekly First Service this Friday, March 16 at 8 p.m. A pre-show event will begin at 7:30 p.m.
