Dr.
Warren C. Trenchard came to La Sierra University in 1995 from Canadian
Union College (now Canadian University College) in Lacombe, Alberta,
Canada. He had served there since 1975 as a member of the faculty of
Religious Studies and later as Vice President for Academic Administration.
His first assignment at LSU was in the Office of the President, where
he was Senior Assistant to the President until 1997. At that time the
School of Religion invited him to take the position of Professor of New
Testament and Early Christian Literature and to serve as the Director
of Graduate Programs. In July 2004 Dr. Trenchard accepted the position
of Provost for La Sierra University.
A native of Newfoundland, Canada, Dr. Trenchard grew up in Indiana,
graduated from Indiana Academy, and later received three degrees from
Andrews University, including the equivalent of the Master of Divinity
degree from the Theological Seminary. After pastoring in Southern
New England, including a year as chaplain at Atlantic Union College
in Massachusetts, he enrolled in doctoral studies at the University
of Chicago.
Dr. Trenchard is married to the former Marilyn Beaumont, a registered
nurse in obstetrics at Community Hospital of San Bernardino. They
have three sons, Mark, David, and Kevin, and three grandchildren,
Cadence, Miles, and Braden.
His hobbies and interests include performing choral music, listening
to classical music and jazz, taking and editing digital photographs,
consulting on business projects, and engaging in and watching various
sports.
